Terrifying French kids books / Kitty Crowther

I read a nice article in the Guardian about terrifying kids books being popular in France, they had some great examples, you can read it here

I was particularly drawn to the illustration on ‘La Visite de Petite Mort’ by Kitty Crowther.

Kitty Crowther is a Belgian author and illustrator, she won the 2010 Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award.

I was however quite surprised by the title of this as I have often been told that ‘la petite mort’ is an idiom and metaphor for orgasm..

I really love her illustrations, they are completely inspiring. I also found an animation that she made with Bruno Salamone which I think is brilliant .
